Condescension \Con`de*scen"sion\, n. [L. condescensio.]
The act of condescending; voluntary descent from one's rank
or dignity in intercourse with an inferior; courtesy toward
inferiors.
It forbids pride . . . and commands humility, modesty,

Such a dignity and condescension . . . as are suitable
