  Massicot  \Mas"si*cot\,  n.  [F.  massicot;  E.  masticot  is  a 
  corruption.]  (Chem.) 
  Lead  protoxide,  {PbO},  obtained  as  a  yellow  amorphous  powder, 
  the  fused  and  crystalline  form  of  which  is  called  {litharge}; 
  lead  ocher.  It  is  used  as  a  pigment.
