  Vine  \Vine\,  n.  [F.  vigne,  L.  vinea  a  vineyard,  vine  from  vineus 
  of  or  belonging  to  wine,  vinum  wine,  grapes.  See  {Wine},  and 
  cf  {Vignette}.]  (Bot.) 
  a  Any  woody  climbing  plant  which  bears  grapes.
